Wyandotte Roosevelt Wrestlers Win Friday Matches
Quentin Santiago and Cade Barwig come out on top in first round of state tournament.

sophomore Quentin Santiago had a back-and-forth match on Friday morning with Grand Haven senior Allen Torres (135 pounds).
In the third round, the lead changed hands twice. Santiago scored six points in the round to win a 13-10 decision.
"It was a very quick paced match," Bears coach Brett Greene said. "But we had him (Torres) on his back more."

Greene was happy Santiago and Roosevelt's other state final's qualifier, Cade Barwig, bounced back this morning after losing on Thursday.
"I hope they both come out with the same aggressiveness in their next match," he added.

The individual wrestling state finals kicked off on Thursday afternoon at The Palace of Auburn Hills with hundreds of wrestlers from around the state hitting the mat.
