Wyandotte Hockey Suffers 5-1 Loss to Rival Trenton
Unable to overcome three-first period goals by Trenton, Wyandotte Roosevelt was knocked off 5-1 Wednesday night on the road.

Unfortunately for Wyandotte, three first-period goals by Trenton led to a much different outcome Wednesday night.
Getting things started for the Trojans was defenseman Cory Dunn, who put his team up 1-0 at 11:39 of the first period with a shot past Wyandotte junior goaltender Dalan Bulchak.

About three minutes later, Trojans forward Cory Seychel slipped one past Bulchak’s right pad and into the net.
Less than one minute later, the Trojans went up 3-0 with a power-play goal from forward Michael Lesko.
Roosevelt senior defenseman Kyle Gouth said the early deficit deflated his team’s spirit, which is something the Bears must avoid in future contests.
“(Trenton) got that first goal and I think everyone’s attitude just kind of dropped,” Gouth said. “We can’t do that anymore, we have to keep our heads up high.”
Early in the second period, Trenton extended its lead even more, going up 4-0 with a goal from forward Joey Russo.
Midway through the second period, Wyandotte finally got on the board with a goal from senior forward Jake Carlisle, assisted by senior forward Tyler Groat and senior defenseman Kyle King.
An early third-period goal by Trenton's Andrew Sawyer put the Bears down 5-1 and capped the scoring for the night.
Wyandotte’s first-period struggles Wednesday against Trenton were indicative of the team’s performance in most games this season, said Roosevelt head coach Mike Quint.
“We have been coming out flat,” Quint said. “We don’t know why, we don’t know what the answer is. You get down and it’s hard to come back against a good team.”
A Look Back and a Look Ahead
Roosevelt was crushed last Saturday 6-2 on their home ice by Birmingham Brother Rice. Up next for the Bears is a road game Friday night against MIHL foe Cranbrook-Kingswood.
