SHAKOPEE, MN — My Pillow CEO and Donald Trump ally Mike Lindell reportedly must pay $5 million to a software developer who successfully debunked Lindell's data related to the 2020 election.

CNN broke the news Thursday morning after it obtained the decision made by an arbitration panel.

Lindell has continuously promoted false claims about the 2020 election being stolen, among other conspiracies. The Mankato, Minnesota native vowed to award $5 million to any cyber security expert who could disprove his data, which purportedly showed that Trump defeated Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

Lindell was at the White House advising Trump in the days after the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol. A photo of his notes captured by the Washington Post indicates he discussed the idea of declaring "martial law if necessary" with Trump.

About a month later, Lindell was hit with a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems. That lawsuit is still pending.

On Tuesday, Fox and Dominion reached a $787 million settlement in a similar lawsuit filed by the voting machine company.

Lindell is also under investigation by federal authorities. In September, the FBI served him a search warrant and seized his cell phone while in a drive-thru at Hardee's.
