Over 63 Percent Of MN Is Under Drought Conditions

Even after the spring floods, Minnesota is once again suffering serious drought conditions this summer.

MINNEAPOLIS — Following a saturated, flood-filled spring, Minnesota farmers and gardeners are once again suffering under serious drought conditions this summer.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, 63.65 percent of the state is experiencing a "moderate drought."

Just over 11 percent is experiencing a "severe drought."

No part of the state is seeing "extreme drought" conditions yet, but they could be coming without significant rain.

Parts of southwest Wisconsin are already there, as are other portions of the Midwest.
