Taking Networking Outdoors

Hot dogs, beer and lawn games were plentiful during the NEXTLeaders NEXTmix event on Aug. 16 at Crystal Beach. While I can only speak for myself, it was fun being able to get away from the stuffy office atmosphere and relax lakeside with a cold beverage in hand.

Not every event needs to be about exchanging business cards at first glance. Sometimes you need to take the time to get to know people, to develop relationships and trust.

This was a great setting for just that. It was a pressure-free zone, just younger professionals hanging out without a care in the world. It makes me wonder, why don’t we do this more often?

Our next event is Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at in Apple Valley. It will surely be fun! Hope to see you there!
