Flu Season Is Here: You May Qualify For A Reduced Vaccination

There's no doubt about it: cold and flu season is here. You may qualify for a reduced-fee immunization in Dakota County.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Your family and coworkers are constantly coughing and the communal tissues are running low. There’s no doubt about it: cold and flu season is here. The season begins as early as when school starts in September and can continue all the way through the spring.

There's good news, however. The Dakota County Public Health provides reduced-fee immunizations for eligible children and adults who are uninsured or whose health insurance does not cover vaccine.

The vaccine is available for eligible children and adults on the upcoming dates:

Dakota County Western Service Center (14955 Galaxie Ave, Ste. 286, Apple Valley)

  • Tuesday Nov. 21: walk-in from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 28, by appointment

County health officials say immunizations given at public clinics should not be substituted for routine well-child visits.

Minors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Bring all immunization records with you to the clinic.

A donation of $20 for each vaccination is suggested, but those who qualify for reduced-fee immunizations will not be turned away.
