Mr. Dorucher has directed 14 musicals at Eastview High School. The smallest cast was Godspell with 31 and the largest was Into the Woods with 98! He does not want to state a favorite part of “Legally Blonde” because he loves the entire show! “This production marks a step away from the traditional musical for our program. Legally Blonde has been available for amateur production for just over two years, and has offered our company more than a few constructive challenges. Like most newer musicals, there is a substantial heft to the vocal and instrumental requirement. There is just a whole lot of challenging music to sing and play. The score takes our cast and our pit into new territory. Because it is based upon a film, this script is written like a screenplay as it moves quickly from one location to the next with the click of the shutter. It makes set and lighting design critical to both the concept of our production as well as the fluency of the transitions. We have all earned a new respect for those professionals taking on such work.

2) Due to a theatre shop accident, I have 11 fingernails. J
3) The most embarrassing stage moment I ever had was when I was playing the male lead in Arsenic and Old Lace and a big glob of mucous flew out of my mouth, across the stage, and hit another actor in the forehead!
4) The most frightening moment I ever had on stage was when I was playing Matthew Skips, a drunken beggar in The Lady’s Not for Burning, in my first high school play. I was to throw myself off of a ten foot platform and land in the arms of the lead actor. It drove the audience crazy so, in an effort to get more of a reaction each night, he would let me get closer and closer to the ground before he caught me. The last night he missed altogether!"
We can't wait to see what fun Mr. Durocher creates this year with Legally Blonde the Musical!
