Meet Vivenne!

Hello!

My name is Lara Akal. I'm a senior and I play Vivienne Kensington. I've been involved in every musical and Bravo since freshman year and just recently started doing the plays with Good 'n' Plenty this fall, as well as being thoroughly involved in the performing arts my whole life with choir, dance, theatre, and piano. I just love being with theatre people! The atmosphere of rehearsals is really comforting and everyone has so much energy. My character Vivienne is sort of the brunette nemesis to Elle. She is very hard-working and intelligent and acts very antagonistic in the first portion of the show, but turns around after Elle proves herself and is about to give up. My favorite song, though I don't perform in it, is definitely “What You Want”.  I think it's very clever what the writers of the musical have done with Elle's "personal essay" for her application into Harvard becoming a massive song and dance number. My favorite song to perform would be “Legally Blonde Remix”, which starts out with Vivienne admitting she was wrong about Elle and eventually adds in the whole chorus into a really great ensemble piece with some Irish dancing in the middle and high belting towards the end!

What I like about this show compared to others we've done before is that this show is bursting with energy and there never are many dull moments.

As far as fashion goes, Vivienne is very conservative. She wears a lot of neutral tones, blacks, navy blues, etc. Her style is preppy and sophisticated, as she wears a lot of skirts and polo tops and her school outfit includes a nice little beret. She's never frumpy and always makes sure she looks elegant, classy, and presidential in any given situation.
