VIDEO– Dakota County Attorney Describes Apple Valley Murder Charges

County Attorney James Backstrom outlined charges against Roger Earl Holland of Apple Valley in the March 7 death of his pregnant wife at a press conference Monday, March 11.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Monday afternoon that the March 7 death of Margorie Ann Holland, 37, is "hard to believe."

"It's an extremely sad and tragic event for a mother and her unborn child to die allegedly at the hands of her husband and the child's father," Backstrom said at a press conference after charges were filed against Roger Earl Holland, 36, of Apple Valley.

A criminal complaint filed Monday alleges Roger Holland strangled his wife to death, and then staged a scene to make it appear she had fallen down the stairs.
