Drunk Driver Goes Airborne, Spins In Eagan: Police
The crash happened right in front of three officers, police said.
EAGAN, MN — One man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after police said his car went flying in front of them. On Monday, three officers were parked at Eagan's Fire Station 1 and heard screeching tires.
They looked and saw a truck southbound Blackhawk Road from Diffley Road losing control and drive up on to the support cables for a power pole. The truck became airborne, then spun sideways and landed on its roof, according to a news release.
"The driver couldn't really explain why the crash happened but the several open containers seen around his vehicle gave officers an idea," authorities said in a statement.
