Eagan Road and Lane Closures Update

The city of Eagan has released updates regarding construction projects in Eagan on Pilot Knob Road, Cedar Avenue, and Highway 13. For the safety of both the drivers and construction workers, officials ask that motorists be patient in these areas. Constrution chedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Pilot Knob Road Construction

• The signals at the intersection of Pilot Knob and Central Parkway/Northwood Parkway will be taken down on Oct. 20 in order to install a new signal system. Until the new system is activated, the intersection will be controlled by a two-way stop. The stop signs will be for the traffic at Central Parkway and Northwood Parkway. This intersection will also have right-out and right-in access only. The traffic on Pilot Knob will not stop at the intersection.
• On Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23, the signal lights (with "superpole" mast arms) at Pilot Knob Road/Yankee Doodle Road will be replaced and relocated in the early morning hours (with hopefully minimal traffic lane disruptions).
• The right turn lane from Yankee Doodle Road to southbound Pilot Knob Road is closed until late October/early November. The detour is east on Yankee Doodle road, south on Denmark Avenue, then west on Duckwood Drive to Pilot Knob.
• The right turn lane from northbound Pilot Knob Road to eastbound Yankee Doodle Road is closed until late October/early November. The detour is north on Pilot Knob Road to Central Parkway and east on Yankee Doodle.

This is a Dakota County led project.

Cedar Avenue (Highway 77)

• Expect lane closures both northbound and southbound as construction continues. On Friday, October 21, at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, Oct. 24 at 5:00 a.m., motorists will encounter a single lane in each direction between the Minnesota River Bridge and Highway 13. Ramps will be closed intermittently throughout the weekend, as needed.

Highway 13

• The ramp from westbound Highway 13 to northbound Highway 77 is closed through the end of October while crews continue to work on the new Cedar Grove Transit Station.

Dakota County

Installation of flashing yellow signals at the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and I-494 (north and south ramps). Expect temporary lane closures.
