Eagan's Cascade Bay Waterpark Will Be Closed All Summer
The Eagan City Council voted to keep Cascade Bay Waterpark closed for the entire summer in 2020.
EAGAN, MN — Concerned about the ongoing spread of the new coronavirus, the Eagan City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to keep Cascade Bay Waterpark closed for the entire summer in 2020. The city plans to reopen it in 2021.
"We continued to explore all options to try and make it work to open Cascade Bay this summer with the proper social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety," Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental said in a statement. "But with approximately 120,000 annual visitors, and certain days with well over 2,000 visitors, and the unpredictable nature of waterparks, we couldn’t come up with a feasible way to maintain the proper distancing plan and maintain safety for patrons and staff."
Tuesday's vote means that Little Mates classes, the Captain’s Course Miniature Golf, Cardio Bay, birthday parties, and private rentals are also canceled.

Season pass holders will be given full refunds in the form of a household credit, officials said. However, if you would prefer a credit card refund, you are asked to call (651) 675-5500.
"We know how much the community, including kids, parents, seniors and fun-seekers value and enjoy Cascade Bay Waterpark, so it’s being closed only after exhausting every effort," Pimental continued. "But we assure you, we are going to work on maintenance projects, create new programming, and come back stronger than ever in 2021!"
