Eye Injury, Alcohol Possible Factors In Adam Zimmer's Death: Report

Thirty-eight-year-old Adam Zimmer was found dead at his Mendota Heights townhome last week.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Alcohol and an eye injury may have played a role in 38-year-old Adam Zimmer's death, according to a report.

Zimmer's body was found at his home in Mendota Heights on Nov. 1 following a welfare check.

Court documents reviewed by the Star Tribune said that police were called to Zimmer's home on reports he "had passed out from drinking."

At his townhome, officers found Zimmer seated on a couch with "bruising or blood pooling around his eye," the documents continued.

Police do not suspect foul play.

Adam Zimmer, the son of Mike Zimmer, was the Vikings' co-defensive coordinator in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. At the time of his death, he was working remotely as an offensive analyst for the Cincinnati Bengals.
