Man Dies By Suicide In Eden Prairie Center, Mall Goes On Lockdown
The lockdown was lifted just before 9:30 p.m., but the mall remain closed for the evening.

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — The Eden Prairie Center mall went into lockdown on Monday after a man fatally shot himself, authorities said.
Just before 7:30 p.m., Eden Prairie police officers were called to the Scheels store in the mall on the report of a shot fired.
At the scene, officers found one man dead.

"The area has been secured. There is no danger to the public," police tweeted just after 8:30 p.m
The lockdown was lifted about an hour later, KSTP reported. According to the news station, one witness said he was inside Scheels when a worker yelled, "Gun!"

The mall remained closed for the rest of the evening while authorities investigated.
"Thank you for your cooperation as we worked to secure the area and thank you to the numerous local, state and federal agencies who assisted in the response," Eden Prarie police said.
