Man With Rifle Robbed Mall Of America Store: Police

Friday's incident took place just weeks after a shooting that took place at the Mall of America earlier in August.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — A 28-year-old man with a rifle was arrested after robbing a store in the Mall of America on Friday, according to police.

On Friday afternoon, the Mall of America security received a report about an armed man in the area, authorities said.

Mall security found the man and detained him as he left the "Lids" store on the southeast side of level three, according to investigators.

After the man was detained, investigators determined that he committed an armed robbery inside of Lids, according to police. Authorities said they believe the same man also robbed Twin City Pawn in Minneapolis earlier in the afternoon.

The man was taken into custody but has not yet been formally charged.

Police say they requested a search warrant for a vehicle connected to the man that is parked in a mall ramp.
