No Injuries in Eagan Kitchen Fire
The Eagan Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire in an apartment on Silver Bell Road in Eagan Tuesday.

The Eagan Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire in an apartment on Silver Bell Road around 3:14 Tuesday afternoon. The fire crew's quick response kept the fire in the kitchen and limited damage to the unit.
No injuries occurred in the incident, according to a news release.

- Never leave cooking food unattended
- Use a timer to remember that the stove or oven is on
- Don’t wear loose clothing or dangling sleeves while cooking
- Keep the kids away from the cooking area.
- Keep anything that can catch fire easily away from your stove
- Clean cooking surfaces regularly to prevent grease buildup.
- Consider purchasing a fire extinguisher to keep in your kitchen
- Check the kitchen before going to bed or leaving the home to make sure all stoves, ovens, and small appliances are turned off
- Install a smoke alarm near your kitchen, on each level of your home, near sleeping areas, and inside and outside bedrooms if you sleep with doors closed.
