Presidential Election 2016 Vs. 2020: How Dakota County Voted

From 2016 to 2020: Here's a look at how Dakota County's political leanings have shifted over the past four years.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Dakota County shifted more "blue" from 2016 to 2020, according to the initial election results, even when accounting for the surge in voter turnout. Joe Biden received more than 34,000 votes in 2020 than Hillary Clinton did in 2016. Trump received only 9,450 more votes in 2020 compared to his performance in 2016.

The U.S. House race in Dakota County also saw a similar shift.
