Vikings WR Arrested In Eagan For Alleged Theft, Domestic Assault

The Vikings player is being held in the Dakota County jail.

EAGAN, MN — Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cayleb Jones is being held in the Dakota County jail on theft and domestic assault allegations, police said. Eagan police arrested Smith just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to county records.

He has not been charged.

In a statement to KSTP, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said "We are aware of the situation involving Cayleb Jones and are in the process of gathering more information."

Jones was on the Vikings' practice squad for the entire 2017 season. In April, the NFL announced he would be suspended for the first four games of 2018-19 season for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Vikings play their final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville at 7 p.m. Thursday.
