Twin Cities Orthopedics Offers Golfers an Opportunity to Improve Their Game

Twin Cities Orthopedics opens a state-of-the-art sports medicine facility in Eden Prairie, MN.

Golden Valley, MN - March 30, 2015 - www.tcomn.com - Twin Cities Orthopedics, the largest orthopedic group in Minnesota, recently opened a state-of-the-art sports medicine facility in Eden Prairie. Of the many opportunities for everyday athletes is the first of its kind Golf Medicine Program just in time for the golf season to get into full swing here in Minnesota.

The golf medicine program offers a range of support tailored to address a golfer’s individual goals. The unique combination of Certified Physical Therapists, Golf Professionals, Golf Fitness Experts and the state-of-the-art Titleist Performance Institute Screen make this a first of its kind offering to help golfers improve their game and enjoy an injury free season.

Individuals work with the Certified Physical Therapist to assess their golf specific physical limitations to identify asymmetries that may be detrimental to their swing. These are the things which over time result in everything from general soreness to injury. The use of high tech video analysis as a tool to identify physical and mechanical breakdowns helps to educate the golfer on how best to address their issues. This is where the Golf Professional comes into play, working with the individual to address the specific issues in their swing. That information is combined with a tailored exercise regime from our Golf Fitness Experts. This team effort results in the golfer improving both power and consistent ball striking. Said another way, golfers see a dramatic improvement in their game.

“The uniqueness of our golf program is that a person gets screened to identify how their body moves, receives lessons from one of our golf pros and then goes straight into a golf fitness session. Our program
also offers an option to consult with a nutritionist to fuel properly throughout the course,” said Brandon Schomberg, DPT & Physical Therapist at Twin Cities Orthopedics.

“We’re in a highly competitive industry,” said Troy Simonson, CEO, Twin Cities Orthopedics, who views competition as positive for the market. “Where we have the edge is in the customized and state‐of-the‐art care we’re able to offer the general public, no matter their age or level of athleticism. At the end of the day, competition is good for the patient.”

With the opening of new facilities like Eden Prairie, Twin Cities Orthopedics is transitioning itself from being not just an orthopedic services provider, but to an overall sports performance and wellness center. Free yoga classes and boot camps are offered to the public at the new Maple Grove location.

The state-of-the‐art Eden Prairie facility will provide additional specialized training in the areas of motion analysis, throwing, return-to-sport strength and conditioning, and nutrition services, as well as
serving as the perfect location for run clubs and other sports teams to meet and work out.

“Our new facilities are so well equipped that we hope that the public will come to us as part of their workout regime,” said Chris Bailey, Director of Therapy Services, Twin Cities Orthopedics. “We’re a great alternative to a traditional health club, plus we offer training plans customized to the individual.”
