Edina Education Fund hires new Executive Director

The Edina Education Fund announced in that after a months-long search, they have hired Tracie Huhn-Carr as their new Executive Director. Huhn-Carr joins the Ed Fund as it celebrates its 20th anniversary of supporting the Edina Public Schools.
Huhn-Carr is a native of the Twin Cities and came to the Ed Fund in July with 17 years of nonprofit experience. Early in her career she provided direct services and managed programs for struggling families and adolescents. For the past 10 years she has focused on implementing sustainable fundraising programs, improving operating efficiencies, creating effective programs, and helping nonprofits increase the community’s engagement in their mission and work. Huhn-Carr has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in business administration.
“We are excited to have Tracie leading our organization, and increasing our positive footprint on the Edina Public Schools and on our great community.” said Valerie Stidman, Edina Education Fund board co-chair.

Recently, the Edina Education Fund board of directors engaged in a strategic planning process that yielded a vision and direction that complement the goals of the district, and ensure the Ed Fund’s continued, long-term support of enhanced educational opportunities for all Edina students.
“I truly believe that we are most effective when we are working in partnership with members of the community,” said Huhn-Carr. “I’m looking forward to creatively engaging Edina students, parents, educators and others in this important work.”

Founded in 1995, the Edina Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the continued academic excellence of the Edina Public Schools. The Ed Fund secures private, supplemental funding to support valuable education experiences and innovative projects in the Edina Public Schools. Funds raised augment school system revenues that are provided by taxes, state aid, and other parent and student led fundraising efforts. The Edina Education Fund is supported entirely by private grants and donations.
