Free Parent Talk: Understanding Your Young Adult

Learn how to help your young adult become a successful, happy and engaged member of society.

Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 8-8:30pm, at the Southdale Library, 7001 York Ave S. (Helen Young Room), Sissy Ruhl of Trailhead Consulting will be sharing with parents FREE advice designed specifically to help parents better understand their young adult children.

During, "Parent Talk: Understanding Your Young Adult," Sissy will discuss Generations Y and Z, what has influenced their behavior, and how to help them become successful, happy, engaged members of society.

The topic is timely! According to a recent Star Tribune article, high school grads are losing ground fast. If you better understand your adult child, chances are you'll be more prepared to help guide them on a successful path after high school—something that appears more important than ever.

After struggling to find her own path in life, Sissy Ruhl realized she wasn’t alone. Thousands of college graduates are working minimum wage jobs or jobs that don't make effective use of their degree. Sissy and her dad (and business partner) wanted to change that. They founded Trailhead Consulting, LLC, in 2016 with the idea that if they could give college graduates the guidance they needed to make informed decisions about their futures and how to use their degrees, they would lead more fulfilling lives with careers in which they could be both happy and successful. They also took it a step further and decided to reach out to young adults who hadn’t yet committed to college or a specific path. If they could reach those students earlier, they could save them time, resources, and a significant amount of stress in the future.
