Sota Clothing Gears up for Cyber Monday

After two years of growing local recognition the Minnesota company is preparing for their biggest online sales day to date

Sota Clothing, a company that embodies Minnesota lifestyle, is preparing for it’s hometown crowd to more than double last year’s purchases this Cyber Monday. Using promo code, ‘sotacyber’, Sota is offering customers 25% off all online purchases made on Monday.

With 85% of business coming from online sales Sota is hoping this year’s Cyber Monday will be one of their most successful days yet. “Last year we were not prepared for the amount of orders we were going to get during the holiday season, so we sold out of a lot of items early. This year we are ready and excited,” said owner Spencer Johnson.

Sota Clothing’s exponential growth over the last two years can be attributed to the community’s response to the company. “It’s been fun hearing customer’s stories about wearing the clothing around and having complete strangers coming up to them saying how much they like Sota Clothing. That right there is what it’s all about. Getting two strangers talking to each other because of Sota Clothing is huge. I was wearing my shirt in Italy and someone came up to me asked if I was from Minnesota and where I got my shirt. It shows you how strong of bond Minnesota has created,” said Johnson.

What started with a graphic and tee-shirt has matured into a recognized Minnesota brand with a wide variety of items. Johnson says, “I am always keeping my eye out for what could inspire the next design.” The continually expanding inventory features handmade Minnesota pennants, perfect for the living room fireplace or at the cabin, pint glasses for craft beers, and tee-shirts, tanks, hoodies and hats to represent your home state. The apparel also features local sports team inspired color themes.

Johnson is a proponent of shopping locally and creating local partnerships. Sota is teaming up with some of the Twin Cities’ Dunn Brothers and they’ll be selling Sota’s 32nd State coffee mugs and Sota State pint glasses. They are also working with Sip Dark, they produce whisky stones, and have created custom Sota whiskey stones and Sota whiskey glasses.
