The council will now appoint a resident to finish his term, following his recent primary loss in the Minnesota Senate District 19 race. 
• Environmental Commission to present data center moratorium to city council (southernminn.com) — Faribault's Environmental Commission is reviving a push for a temporary moratorium on new data centers and drafting stricter local standards before a proposal reaches the City Council. Members say they're worried about health, environmental impacts, and how annexation and industrial setbacks could affect residents in surrounding townships near the city's industrial park.
