• AmeriCorps team assists Habitat for Humanity home construction (hometownsource.com) — In Grand Rapids, an AmeriCorps NCCC team is working with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity to build three net-zero homes, including one right in town and two in Calumet. Local volunteers, churches, and businesses are pitching in with support, while the young AmeriCorps members gain hands-on service experience that will help expand affordable housing options for area families.
