Over the month of June, local artist and entrepreneur, Danette Malerich had an art show displayed at the Inver Grove Heights City Hall called "FACES," which featured her portraits of police officers and rescue dogs.
Snappy had the privilege of a private tour with Danette mid-June at IGH City Hall. It was great to hear the stories behind the faces – along with her heart to give back to the community through art and service.
Danette is a graduate of the Citizen's Police Academy, 2012. She is currently on a waiting list to become a volunteer Reserve Officer.
"Police portraits are a way to honor and thank not only these officers but all officers for their service"."They don't even know me, yet, they go out every day willing to give their life for citizen's like me".
She hopes that her dog portraits of rescued dogs, helps to bring awareness to the issue of throw away dogs, mistreated dogs and puppy mills. Danette will donate 20% of the total of each commissioned dog portrait to the rescue organization of the clients choice.
She hopes to be back in the fall with a show of her abstract paintings.
Snappy says, if you would like to have a portrait done of your rescue dog or loved one, Danette is a passionate artist, who happens to live in Inver Grove Heights, MN. Consider having her preserve your memories in a unique and colorful way!
