Andover House Fire Starts With Family Of 4 Inside: 1 Killed

The fire started near the garage and spread to the rest of the house early Tuesday morning.

ANDOVER, MN — Authorities are investigating after a house fire killed one in Andover early Tuesday morning. On Feb. 25 just after 3 a.m., Anoka County Central Communications received a 911 call of a residential house fire in the 14300 block of Woodbine St. NW.

Fire crews and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office responded. The fire started near the garage and spread to the rest of the house.

A family of four were inside the house when the fire started, according to a news release.

A 39-year-old woman escaped the house with no injuries. A 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy also escaped and were transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

A 36-year old man did not make it out of the house and was later discovered dead inside the home, police said.

The blaze remains under investigation by the Andover Fire Department, Minnesota State Fire Marshall, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office
