Blaine Man Pleads Guilty To Drunk Driving In Crash Killing Woman

The crash killed 30-year-old Jenna Bixby, who worked as a 911 dispatcher in Minneapolis. She was on her way to work when she was killed.

HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — Richard Shaka pleaded guilty to driving drunk and killing a person in a crash, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Wednesday. According to the criminal complaint and his testimony Tuesday, Shaka, 73, of Blaine collided with a Hyundai driven by 30-year-old Jenna Bixby of Nowthen in the southbound lanes of Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park on Feb. 17, 2018.

Shaka admitted he was drunk at the time and drove north in the southbound lane, according to authorities. Bixby was found dead at the scene.

Bixby worked as a 911 dispatcher in Minneapolis. She was on her way to work when she was killed.
