'Disturbing' Find Made At MN Teen's 'Booze-Filled' B-Day Bash: Sheriff
Police say they found nearly a dozen illegal guns after busting up an underage party a Maple Grove Airbnb.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — A 17-year-old was jailed after authorities busted up his underage birthday party happening at an Airbnb in Maple Grove, according to investigators. In addition to booze, authorities say they found illegal machine guns and other weapons.
The investigation began across the Twin Cities metro in Ramsey County, where deputies looked into a report of stolen credit cards.
The credit cards were stolen out of Shoreview last week and used at a nearby Target, authorities said. Once the theft was reported, deputies identified the suspect and tracked him to a Saturday night party at an Airbnb in Hennepin County's Maple Grove, according to authorities.

With the help of Maple Grove police, Ramsey County deputies found more than 50 people at the "booze-filled" rental, ranging in age from 15 to 21 hanging out in the home, investigators said.
Deputies contacted the property owner and learned that no more than 10 people could be at the house, per the rental agreement. Everyone was asked to leave, according to authorities.

But "that’s when things took a disturbing and dangerous turn," the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies said they found 11 illegally possessed guns hidden in plants, under boardgames, on top of a furnace, inside unfinished walls, and buried in handbags.
Several of the guns were equipped with auto-sears, which makes them machine guns, according to investigators.
"Who brought the guns to the party? We’re working to answer that question," the sheriff's office said. "But one thing we know for sure is that we never know where a case will lead."
"I feel violated, you know, it’s like, my house," the homeowner and operator of the Airbnb told KARE 11. "I feel awful, not just for myself, but for the community."
