Golden Valley Home Invaders Tied Up Victims, Stole Expensive Puppies

The victims were bound up with duct tape by at least three people who were armed and wearing ski masks, police said.

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN — The Golden Valley Police Department is investigating a robbery in which $100,000 worth of items and animals were stolen, including eight American Bully Merle puppies.

No arrests have been made.

"This was an isolated incident, and we know based upon our initial investigation and talking with the victims these suspects had help from a family member," said Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green in a statement.

"They knew exactly what they were looking for when they entered the home. We are confident the information we have about the suspects will lead to the arrest of those involved."

The robbery happened Saturday night at a home on the 6300 block of Medicine Lake Road in Golden Valley. When police arrived at about 10:40 p.m., the victims said they had been bound up with duct tape by at least three people who were armed and wearing ski masks.

The robbers were let into the home by a relative of the homeowner, police said. The robbers forced the victims into the kitchen and bound their hands, legs, and mouths with duct tape.

They then stole jewelry, gaming systems, several high-dollar purses, and eight American Bully Merle puppies valued between $5,000-$10,000 each, and a 2019 Dodge Challenger, according to investigators.
