Maple Grove Woman Pleads Guilty In Crash That Killed 2 Girls
The collision killed two Mounds View High School students and injured a third. The three teens were on their way to school.

MOUNDS VIEW, MN — A Maple Grove woman pled guilty Thursday to criminal vehicular homicide in connection with a 2016 crash that killed two students from Mounds View High School and injured a third.
Rachel Diane Kayl, now 33, confessed she was driving approximately 80 mph when she crashed into the teens’ vehicle, the Pioneer Press reported. Kayl was driving in a 50 MPH zone, according to the newspaper.
The site of the fatal crash was briefly closed in 2016 so students could leave memorials in memory of the two girls who were killed, Bridget Giere and Stephanie Carlson.
