Post Threatening School Violence Is A Hoax: Brooklyn Park Police
Authorities determined the social media post, which threatened violence but did not name a school, originated in Florida.
BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A social media post that threatened violence against an unnamed school was determined to be a hoax, according to local police and other officials.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department on Thursday night said it became aware of the post after several students in the city began sharing it on Snapchat. The department said other cities in Minnesota fielded similar concerns regarding the same post.
Authorities determined the same exact threat originated in Florida.

"Anoka Police quickly determined that this post was the identical message shared in south Florida school districts that police there determined was non-credible. This message is confirmation that our investigation into this matter is complete and school will be held as expected tomorrow."
The post started making the rounds in South Florida earlier this week before police there determined it was a hoax, WPBF reported.
The post reads the following: "MARK THE DATE 5/5/23 FRIDAY I WILL MAKE HISTORY AS THE TOP SCHOOL SLAUGHTER."
The post mentions bombs and other students being involved.
