Single-Car Crash On I-35W Kills Forest Lake Woman

BLAINE, MN — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a single-car crash in Blaine that left one woman dead Wednesday. The collision occurred just before noon on Interstate 35W.

A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on I-35W approaching Lake Drive in the left lane. The Silverado drifted across the left shoulder lane before the driver over-corrected, crossing both lanes to the right, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Silverado then tried to correct back to the left, causing the vehicle to roll into the right ditch, authorities said.

The crash killed the driver, who was identified as Julie Marie Medjanyk, 56, of Forest Lake.
