Places to Swim in Minnetonka: Williston Fitness Center

Editor's Note: We're doing a preview of the best swimming holes in Minnetonka, marking the first week of summer vacation.

With its year-long renovation complete, the Williston Fitness Center is ready to welcome people of all ages this summer who are looking to swim. The center added a zero-depth splash pad, enlarged hot tub and a brand new 25-yard lap pool. 

"The Williston Center pools are kept at a warmer temperature than most other pools," said Kelly O'Dea, the manager of the Williston Fitness Center. "The temperatures in the lap pool and zero-depth splash pad range from 86-88 degrees and is perfect for children!"

And if the new pools weren't enough, the renovation also included updated locker rooms and four new family changing areas.

While some people may look to swim outside this summer, O'Dea urges people not to overlook the benefits of swimming in an indoor recreation area.

"Having a set pool schedule and knowing that you won't get 'rained out' at Williston is definitely a great benefit," he said.
