• Governor Walz Celebrates 14th Annual Pheasant Opener In Rice County (minnesotasnewcountry.com) — Northfield just hosted the 14th annual Minnesota Governor's Pheasant Opener, bringing Governor Tim Walz, conservation partners, and hunters to town for tours, celebrations, and hunting around the area. Events included visits to Sharing Our Roots, the Northfield History Center, and a downtown Rooster Round-Up with live music and food trucks, spotlighting local conservation and outdoor recreation. 
• Ben Thies - Volleyball Assistant Coach (carleton.edu) — Carleton College volleyball has added assistant coach Benjamin Thies, a veteran Minnesota club and high school coach, to help develop Knights players on and off the court in Northfield. With nearly two decades of experience and a background in education, he brings strong skills in player development, scouting, and communication that should benefit local student-athletes and fans.
