Richfield Murder: Family Offers $10,000 For Answers
A family is offering $10,000 for answers for why a 24-year-old was gunned down in Richfield last month.

RICHFIELD, MN — The family of a fatal shooting victim is desperately looking to their community of answers and is willing to give a significant financial reward for information. In addition to the already $4,500 being offered by Crime Stoppers of Minnesota, the family is offering a reward of $10,000 for any information that leads to answers in the fatal shooting of a man in Richfield.
"Why Jonathan?" O'Shaughnessy's sister asked in a press conference Wednesday, marking the one month anniversary since her brother was gunned down. "Jonny was a great kid." Richfield Mayor Pat Elliot also spoke Wednesday wearing a "Justice For Jonathan" shirt.
On July 3 at 11:21 p.m., Richfield police responded to the area of 64th street and 4th Avenue on a complaint of an individual who was shot. Upon arrival, officers located 24-year-old Jonathan Michael O’Shaughnessy lying in the street. O’Shaughnessy sustained two gunshot wounds, according to police.

Despite life-saving measures taken by first responders, Jonathan O’Shaughnessy was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later said O’Shaughnessy was killed in a "drive-by" style shooting. The Richfield Police Department said it continues to investigate this incident and is following up on all leads. Currently, the Richfield Police Department is seeking the assistance of male and female bicyclists who were in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the shooting.
