Canterbury Hall of Fame Jockey Rides into the Kentucky Derby
You can watch and wager on the Kentucky Derby on May 5 at Canterbury Park.

Hall of Fame Jockey Mike Smith has secured a ride aboard a very talented horse for the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Smith rode Bodemeister, trained by Bob Baffert, to a decisive victory in the $1 Million Arkansas Derby this past weekend at Oaklawn Park and will retain the mount for the $2 Million Kentucky Derby to be held Saturday, May 5.
The performance by Bodemeister was arguably the most impressive race turned in by a Derby contender this spring. Bodemeister will now be one of the favorites in this year's Run for the Roses.
Smith, known by many as the jockey of Zenyatta, rode at Canterbury Park during its early days as Canterbury Downs claiming the jockey title during the track's inaugural season in 1985. He is a two time winner of the Eclipse Award as the Nation's top jockey and previously won the Kentucky Derby aboard Giacomo in 2005.
