(PHOTOS) Tough Goodbye as Southwest Baseball Ends Season With Loss

The Minneapolis Southwest baseball team was ousted from the Section 6AAA tournament with back-to-back losses to Bloomington, Kennedy and Hopkins.

For the seniors of the Minneapolis Southwest baseball team, it was hard to walk off the field for the final time in their high school career. Tears were shed, and hugs were given as players slowly packed up their bats and helmets and left the field at Alimagnet Park in Burnsville. Coaches and fans remained supportive of the team, but nothing could change the reality that the Lakers' season was over.

The Lakers started off the day with an 11-3 loss to Bloomington Kennedy, which put them in an elimination game against Hopkins later in the day. The team could only put one run on the board, and allowed nine runs to the Hopkins team.

The Minneapolis Southwest team finished the season with a 15-9 record.
