Cadillac Drives Off Bridge, Catches Fire On I-94: 1 Dead

A man is dead and a woman is fighting for her life after a Cadillac drove off a bridge in Minneapolis and landed on Interstate 94.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A 31-year-old man is dead and a 37-year-old woman is fighting for her life after their Cadillac ATS went off a bridge in Minneapolis Wednesday night. The vehicle landed on Interstate 94 just before 10 p.m.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), the Cadillac was traveling north on Washington Avenue North to westbound 41st Avenue North. The Cadillac lost control and went over the guard rail of the 41st Avenue bridge, crashing onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 and starting on fire.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to North Memorial by ground ambulance.

The driver, Floyd Douglas Cunningham, of Minneapolis, has died. Passenger Lancha Robertson, also of Minneapolis, suffered life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not involved in the incident, according to MSP.
