Stillwater Area Public Schools Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Chris Lennox is moving on.
Lennox—who served as principal of Stillwater Area High School from 2003 until 2008 when he moved to his assistant superintendent role with the district—announced Friday that he has accepted an assistant superintendent position with Bloomington Public Schools.
Over the past several months, the district has made many changes to its central services and administrative structures, one of which included the restructuring of Lennox’s current position.
The district had planned to move Lennox to a new Executive Director of Instruction, Professional Development and Secondary Curriculum position next school year. Now the district will post the position to be filled or consider an interim plan for the 2012-2013 school year.
“The last nine years in Stillwater have been wonderful," Lennox stated in a news release. "I truly feel blessed to have had the opportunity to live and work in this community.”

The Stillwater Area School District is appreciative of Lennox's long tenure and dedication to the district's students, Superintendent Corey Lunn said.
“I’m also very happy he has an opportunity to move forward and grow professionally in his new position,” Lunn said.
In addition to the plans to restructure Lennox's position, the district has also eliminated several positions and restructured for two new positions: Mary Anderson will be the Executive Director for Elementary Curriculum, Innovation and Leadership; and Kate Pechacek will fill the Coordinator of Learning Supports position.
These shifts and others within the district are cost-neutral, according to school district officials. The shirfts are "part of a larger plan that will cut $350,000 from the central services budget."
