Frugal Finds: St. Michael Consignment Shop Celebrates Grand Opening

Deals for families and friends are available each week in St. Michael-Albertville. Check them out here every Wednesday.

Looking for some inexpensive family fun?

  1. Second Time’s A Charm is having a grand opening celebration on Sunday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most items are 20 percent off. If you haven’t been to this charming, secondhand children’s store, now’s the time to see what they have to offer.
  2. Elm Creek Park Reserve. The new playground opened last Thursday and it appears to be one of the best in the state. Playing at the park is free. On an extra sweaty day (we can dream, right?) visit the man-made pond for $3 per person. Family season passes are available for $20 for up to four people, $5 per additional family member.
  3. Free movie Wednesdays. The Rogers and Monticello theaters have started their summer of movies. Each Wednesday at 10 a.m. the theaters are playing a family friendly movie for free. Arrive early to ensure a seat, and enjoy!
  4. Rockin’ Rogers is this weekend. Check out their website for details including a 5K run, live music and a carnival. They also have a parade at noon on Saturday.
  5. It’s strawberry season. Bauer Berry Farm in Champlin opened for strawberry picking last week. Once this rainy summer settles down, head over and pick strawberries by the pound. This weekend's forecast looks great, but bring some shoes that can handle the mud.
