Woodbury Figure Skating Club Beginner 2 Synchronized Skating Line takes 1st Place at Hiawathaland Competition

Woodbury Figure Skating Club Beginner 2 Synchronized Skating Line takes 1st Place at Hiawathaland Competition.

Woodbury Figure Skating Club’s Beginner Synchronized Skating Line - The Ice Kicks, came home with a First Place win this last weekend (Feb 6 - 8), earning a rare “Picket Fence”, which means the panel of judges vote unanimously for the team to win.

Synchronized skating, more commonly referred to as “synchro” by the skating community, is an ever-growing sport around the globe. A typical team consists of 8-20 skaters, who simultaneously skate to a choreographed program in complete synchronization—hence the name “synchronized skating.” Precise timing coupled with intricate footwork, in formation, forms the basis of the routine.

Woodbury’s beginner line consists of 11 skaters between the ages of 6 and 11, including: Jenna Kiemel, Lauren Otte, Lindsay Otte, Avery Sewell, Cassie Wedin, Abby Shier, Sophie Privette, Kyra Privette, Jenna Revnew, Sydney Migdal and Reese Tovar.
