Woodbury Lawmaker Named 2017 'Legislator Of Distinction'

This week, the League of Minnesota Cities awarded a Woodbury lawmaker for her work on behalf of Minnesota cities.

WOODBURY, — This week, the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) named Woodbury Rep. Kelly Fenton as one of their 2017 Legislators of Distinction for her work on behalf of Minnesota cities. A total of 18 members of the Minnesota House of Representatives and 14 Senators were recognized this year.

"It’s an honor to be named a Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities, and to champion legislation that positively impacts Woodbury and the hardworking taxpayers of our state," Fenton said in a statement. "It takes collaboration between state government and local leaders to craft meaningful policy that best serves Minnesotans, and as your state representative, I will continue to advocate for the people and priorities of our community at the State Capitol."

Legislators of Distinction are annually approved by the League’s Board of Directors to recognize that in order to successfully serve commonly shared constituents, state and city officials must work together to meet the unique needs of rural, suburban, and urban residents all across Minnesota, according to a news release.
