(sunherald.com) — Barracuda Taco Stand's Bay St. Louis location has closed for the season after Labor Day, and the owner says there's no set reopening date yet. The Second Street spot, which opened in 2024, joins several other local restaurants that have recently shut their doors amid seasonal slowdowns and rising costs, leaving residents wondering what's next for the popular taco bar.
   

• Hancock County moves forward with plans for new animal shelter (wdam.com) — Hancock County is moving ahead with plans for a new animal shelter that will directly serve Bay St. Louis, Waveland, and unincorporated areas, replacing the aging, flood‑prone facility. County leaders have funding to begin design and site work this year, aiming for construction as early as fall 2027, with better ventilation, drainage, and dedicated space for animals from cruelty or neglect cases.
