SixOh1 Run Club Builds Community, Fights Obesity (sm2media.com) — A new group called SixOh1 Run Club is drawing dozens of residents to a weekly 2.5-mile run every Sunday at the Trace in Hattiesburg. Founder Jeremy Moore hopes the free, all-levels club will fight Mississippi's high obesity rate by giving people a welcoming space to move, learn about health, and build community—no experience required, just show up.

Hattiesburg Convention Commission Honors Andy Stetelman for 32 Years of Extraordinary Service (hubcityspokes.com) — Hattiesburg's Convention Commission is honoring longtime board member and former chairman Andy Stetelman as he retires after 32 years of service. Under his leadership, the commission grew into a major driver of local tourism, overseeing attractions like the Hattiesburg Zoo and Saenger Theater and now generating an estimated 62% of the city's visitor spending.
   

3. Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg chosen as new military tech testing site (clarionledger.com) — Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg has been designated a new permissive test range for cutting-edge military technology, one of only a few such sites in the country. State and military leaders say the move will attract private defense companies, boost jobs, and strengthen national security, potentially bringing significant economic benefits to the Pine Belt and Hattiesburg area.
   

4. Teddy bear drive brings comfort to Hattiesburg families (wjtv.com) — At Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, OLLI members are collecting teddy bears to comfort local children whose families visit the Edwards Street Fellowship Center food pantry. Organizers say the toys offer kids a reassuring companion during stressful times, while giving older adult learners another way to stay engaged and support the Hattiesburg community beyond the classroom.
   

5. Hattiesburg Sunrise Rotarians donating dictionaries to 3rd graders for 21st year (wdam.com) — Hattiesburg Sunrise Rotarians are marking their 21st year of giving free dictionaries to about 550 local third graders, including students at Thames Elementary. Club members and school staff are helping kids learn how to use them, aiming to boost literacy and give Hattiesburg children a stronger foundation in reading and language.
