• DeSoto County Students Can Apply for Governor's School (desotocountynews.com) — Hernando high school sophomores and juniors in DeSoto County Schools can now apply for Mississippi Governor's School, a free two-week residential honors program next June that includes college credit. The competitive program at Mississippi University for Women offers advanced classes, leadership experiences, and statewide connections, with applications due Nov. 1 and requiring recommendations, documentation, and a written response.
