The home's roof collapsed as firefighters worked the scene, and officials have not yet said whether anyone was hurt or what caused the blaze.

3. Explosive demolition brings down DPS tower (wapt.com) — Jackson drivers saw a big change Sunday morning as the former Mississippi Department of Public Safety Administration Tower was demolished, instantly reshaping a familiar part of the city's skyline. For safety, I-55 was briefly closed near Lakeland Drive and Fortification Street, with local traffic detoured while state agencies coordinated the blast and cleanup plans.

Police say Mississippi hanging death was staged after drug dispute killing (americandigest.com) — Jackson residents are learning more about the August death of Tasia Fortune, after police testified she was killed in a drug dispute and her body later staged to look like a hanging in Jackson. Two local men have been arrested, a third suspect is sought, and investigators say the case no longer fits early lynching assumptions that drew national attention.
