• Signs installed at Hotel Whiskey (longbeachbreeze.com) — Construction on downtown Long Beach’s new Hotel Whiskey is visibly advancing, with fresh signage now up on the Jeff Davis Avenue site. The three-story boutique hotel, an $8 million investment, is slated to offer around 27–30 rooms and could open as early as later this year, boosting options for visitors and the local economy.
   

• Long Beach Names Curlee as Head Girls' Basketball Coach (thegazebogazette.com) — Long Beach’s School Board has named alumnus and longtime district coach Chase Curlee as the new head coach of the Long Beach High School girls’ basketball team. District leaders praise his student-first approach and success with recreation and middle school programs, while Curlee plans to align fundamentals and expectations from youth leagues through varsity to strengthen the Bearcats’ future.
   

• Attorney General Cohosts Fallen Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil (thegazebogazette.com) — Long Beach residents are represented at the state’s Fallen Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil by Police Chief Billy Seal, who also leads the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police. Held Tuesday night in Jackson during National Police Week, the ceremony honored officers statewide who died in the line of duty and recognized the families who continue to carry their legacy.
