• Carthage Technical Center receives FFA grant (fourstateshomepage.com) — Carthage students will soon gain a new outdoor classroom on the high school farm, thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Missouri FFA Foundation. The Carthage Technical Center will use the funds to build a pavilion-style learning space on its 25-acre farm, expanding hands-on opportunities in livestock, plant science, and other agriculture programs for local teens.
   

• Chamber honors Maple Leaf creator Robert S. Dale posthumously as festival's 60th grand marshal (carthagenewsonline.com) — Carthage will honor Maple Leaf Festival founder Robert S. Dale as the 60th anniversary grand marshal, with his daughters riding in the Oct. 17 parade. The Chamber is using this milestone to celebrate Dale's decades of civic leadership and highlight the many volunteers, contests, and family-friendly events that keep the Maple Leaf tradition thriving for Carthage residents.
   

• Southwest Missouri water coalitions finalize 30-year Stockton Lake deal (ky3.com) — A new 30-year agreement to draw water from Stockton Lake is set to supply up to two-thirds of southwest Missouri's future needs, including eventually reaching Carthage. Regional water coalitions say the long-planned project will create infrastructure jobs and extend pipelines from Springfield west toward Joplin and Carthage while emphasizing conservation of Ozarks water resources.
