• Man sentenced for 2023 murder of ex-girlfriend (fox2now.com) — A major murder case handled at the St. Louis County courthouse in Clayton ended with a 42-year prison sentence for a man who killed his ex-girlfriend in 2023. Investigators tracked the victim's car to Wisconsin, later finding her body in an Illinois forest preserve, and the defendant ultimately pleaded guilty to reduced charges in exchange for the lengthy sentence.
