• Neosho Arts Council to Host Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest During Fall Festival (newstalkkzrg.com) — Downtown Neosho will turn into a giant chalk canvas on Saturday, Oct. 3, when the Neosho Arts Council hosts its annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest during the Fall Festival. Artists 8 and up can register that morning on the Square, compete for cash prizes, and help transform Neosho's streets into a colorful celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month.

• Allen Barbre, Mike Rader named to Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (blogspot.com) — A former Neosho High School offensive lineman, Jon Franks, is among southwest Missouri football figures being honored as part of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame's 2026 class and Elite 11 awards. The recognition highlights his standout play at Neosho, college career at Missouri Southern, and three decades of coaching across Missouri high schools.
